Trinity Lutheran Church is led by the Holy Spirit to proclaim the law and gospel of God’s inerrant Word to: Save Sinners, Disciple the Saints, And Love our Neighbors By Grace through Faith in Christ unto the Glory of God the Father. We strive to live out this mission by proclaiming our beliefs in our worship, in our ministries, and in our lives.
This congregation accepts and believes in the Holy Bible as the complete, inspired, and inerrant written Word of God, preserved for us by the Holy Spirit for our salvation and instruction.
blockquote> "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." — 2 Timothy 3:16–17This congregation believes and will bear witness that the Bible is our only authentic and infallible source of God’s revelation to us and to all men and is the only inerrant and completely adequate source and norm of Christian doctrine and life.
This congregation affiliates with the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations (AFLC) and endorses its Fundamental Principles and Rules for Work that affirm that the local congregation governs its own affairs, subject to the Word and the Spirit of God Alone.
Sunday Worship Services are at 10:00 a.m.
Our worship is not meant to be entertainment, but rather to facilitate the giving of praise, honor, thanks, adoration, and reverence to God corporately. We do this through:
The purpose of the Committee on Parish Education is to foster the creation of a learning environment among all segments of the Church that nurtures the discovery and experience of Jesus Christ and the impact He can have in our lives. Essential to achieving this purpose are curricula and programs that ensure the teaching and understanding the Word of God and providing training for all of those in the Church involved in Christian education of youth and adults.
The Bible Study opportunities at Trinity Lutheran church begin with prayer that the Holy Spirit will lead our Study of God’s Word. We approach God’s Word as Truth and seek to understand how that Truth applies to us today.
We believe that God’s Word is divided into two categories:
Led by Pastor. We listen to the word, then we discuss the word. We get led off on tangents, we solve the world's problems, and we reminisce simpler times.

The purpose of the Trinity Lutheran Church Women’s Missionary Federation is: as a community of women, created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the Church, society, and the world.
Our women's circles stay dynamically active throughout the entire year hosting fellowship events, coordinating seasonal church service projects, and organizing structural support for global mission objectives.
To learn more about upcoming seasonal events or to find out how you can get involved, please reach out to our WMF leadership via the main church office.
The primary goal of the Evangelism and Missions Committee is to lead the congregation in the work of evangelism including actively sharing faith with those who don’t know Christ and vigorously promoting active participation by all in the congregation to the life and work of the church.
The Committee has the responsibility of creating and implementing a “Missions Policy” for the church designed to acquaint the congregation with the World of Missions and create strategies for outreach and mobilization that touches all ministries and age groups within and outside the Church.
The Truth Project: We are currently doing a weekly study on Wednesday nights by Focus on the Family called The Truth Project to help equip our members with a foundational worldview to achieve these outreach goals.
Every ministry page carries an intentional effort to live out our core mission: displaying the active love of God to our neighbors through practical, physical actions.
Our quilters meet once a month to make quilts for those in need. Quilts get distributed locally as well as sent to far-off missions such as The AFLC Mission churches in Naknek, Alaska.
Our Church serves a meal to the community every Friday at Noon. This is part of a larger effort by churches in our community to serve one meal a day every day of the week to those who are in need.
We dream of a world in which every girl has at least one new dress. We want girls to know that they are worthy of respect, and that they are loved by God.
Each year, our congregation packs gift-filled shoeboxes sent to children in need around the world together with the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ via Samaritan's Purse.
The birth of Trinity Lutheran Church occurred in a barn! A small group gathered in George Swanson's barn in 1962 to consider organizing a Lutheran church in Brookings.
From those humble, rustic beginnings, God faithfully guided our congregation through decades of spiritual growth, structural building expansions, pastoral transitions, and structural property alignments.
Throughout every change in affiliation and structural update over the years, our church family has remained entirely anchored to the uncompromised Word of God. Today, we stand firmly as a self-governing local congregation within the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations (AFLC), dedicated to the exact same mission our founders prayed over in that barn: saving sinners, discipling saints, and loving our neighbors.
